Funky Fingers Elephunk, Sally Hansen Night Lights

Ok so this is my third post today but I was too excited to wait! I found these at my local CVS today so I just had to do a new color with them.

I couldn't get Seche Vite without getting Seche Base after reading the boxes... I mean c'mon Seche base is the perfect base for binding with Seche Vite lol.
So I did another color I'd been wanting to try. I found Elephunk by Funky Fingers at our new Five Below store where the full sized bottles were 3 for $5. This is a neat medium grey color with minimal rainbow glitter throughout. Since the color that made me start collecting was Rimmel's Grey Matter, I had to add another!

This is two coats, no top coat, probably still wet!

I also found Sally Hansen's Night Lights at Five Below for $2.99 and loved it because I was in a mood for holo. Reading reviews on this polish I found out it was pretty hard to build it to opacity so I layered it over the Elephunk.

With shiney Seche vite topcoat!

Different lighting shows off the rainbow holo

The Layering actually made Night Lights match the bottle perfectly!
So there's what I'm wearing now! One coat of Seche Base, Two coats Funky Fingers Elephunk, One coat Sally Hansen Night Lights, and One coat Seche Vite!

Epic Konad Giveaway!

So after accruing many adoring followers, Konad-alicious is holding a massive giveaway! The haul is over $300 worth of plates, polishes, and candy! You can enter at her blog HERE  to win all the great stuff before March 1st.

Funky Fingers Kenyan Sunset

Here's my Kenyan Sunset swatch :) I was excited to try this one because I have loved the look of holos since I started collecting nail polish but I hadn't actually purchased one until this color! I also have Sally Hansen's Night Lights that I have to swatch which looks wayyyy more holographic than Kenyan Sunset so I'm pretty excited about that.

This is one coat of Kenyan Sunset with Sally Hansen Double Duty as base and top coat.

Just an update

I don't want to fall out of the blogging habit so I'm posting a pictureless update. I just re-did my nails today with Funky Fingers' Kenyan Sunset which is a nice dark purple holo. This is an amazing polish for less than $2 and it only took one coat for full coverage.  I probably would have kept wearing Jade forever but I figured that would stop my posting so I had to change the color!

After three days of wear there were absolutely no chips, cracks, or scuffs Jade looked wonderful. I saw on another blog that one girl wears green on test days for luck, I think I'll do the same with Jade because it wore soooo well. I'm also convincing my friends that nail colors can be green without meaning it's Christmas time.

From reading other blogs I've seen the world lemming list or lemming come up which doesn't make too much sense in context because lemming is an animal.... I've gathered the nail polish meaning to be something/color you would love to have in your collection that is hard to find or discontinued. So, I have my first lemming! Going through Tronica reviews I saw them often compared the China Glaze's OMG Collection. Well I liked Laser Lime when I saw it but I absolutely ADORE L8R G8R from the OMG collection! I've seen it online for $10 and am not sure I can get myself to spend that much on one polish when I've paying two or less on all my others.... We'll see what happens.

Happy Polishing!

Wet n Wild Craze: Jade

So, I didn't get a picture of Rain Check in sunlight because I ended up doing a new color last night! I bought Wet n Wild's Jade from the Craze line yesterday. I love how cheap and easy to find Wet n Wild is which is probably why it makes up most of my current collection. Without further ado, swatches!

Natural Light, shade

Artificial light, no flash

This is three coats of Jade with Sally Hansen double duty as both base and top coat. I really like this color because it has a nice apple green with gold shimmer that looks awesome in direct sunlight and in most lighting actually, just not in my picture! If you do thicker coats you might be able to get away with 2 but I had some bald spots so I had to do 3.

Wet n Wild Rain Check

So, I found my camera and my memory card! I snapped a couple pictures of my current color Rain Check/Ciel Surprise which is part of the Wild Shine collection from Wet n Wild. These are all inside because I got home after the sun went down but I'll try to get a couple in the sun this weekend (Working tomorrow). I also plan to overlay Wet n Wild Kaleidoscope over this color so I might add those pictures tonight as well.

You'll have to excuse the horrible cuticles and  random bubbles in there. I am still in the beginning stages of learning to treat my nails nicely so they're a work in progress. I used Sally Hansen's Double Duty for base coat and Rimmel 60 Seconds clear top coat. I'm waiting to get Seche Vite when I finally get to the Sally Beauty Supply that's 45 minutes away.

Anyways, here are the nails!

This is 3 coats and two days wear. I like the pearlescent finish on this polish :)

UPDATE:: I've gotten some pictures of Rain Check with Kaleidascope to add to this post. I really like this glitter over Rain Check, it has smaller silver speck glitter mixed in with larger hex glitter and it gives a nice mild holo effect to the nail when applied. These pictures are of two coats with Rimmel 60 top coat once again.

My Inspiration.

So, I've been an unrepentant nail biter since elementary school. It never bothered me that I didn't have the pretty long and painted nails of my more feminine peers, I was too busy playing outside in the dirt and helping my dad stack wood or go hunting to care. In high school I sometimes tried to break the habit but I was never successful. Now that I have a pretty diamond ring, I feel like it's time to grow up and get my nails into better shape to match, or at least compliment, the beauty of the engagement ring my fiance got me. So, here is a picture of my inspiration for my new lacquer love:

See, it's too pretty to pair with nubby nails!

Right now I'm wearing Wet'n'Wild's Rain Check which has been swatched plenty of times. Until I can find my digital camera you'll have to use your imagination as to what my nails look like. Maybe I'll find my camera after school today!

Hello there!

Ok so I've tried this blog thing before and I've proven pretty miserable at it. Recently I've been collecting nail polish in an attempt to stop myself biting my nails and it's gotten out of hand (Or so my Fiance likes to say) So I figured I'd blog about it!

I've been looking around and there are plenty of other nail polish blogs out there so I'm not here to compete for popularity. I just want something to keep me motivated to paint  my nails instead of biting them off! I'll try to post pictures when I paint my nails new colors and if I get involved enough in this polish thing maybe I'll even buy designer colors and do some reviews.

Thanks for reading :)
